- Directions for scanning Macintosh volumes for the TIES escape sequence.
-
- 1. Quit any applications that may be running on the Macintosh that you wish to scan.
-
- 2. Insert the "TIES Search" diskette and startup the "TIES Search" application. You
- do not need to copy the "TIES Search" to the disk you want to search.
-
- 3. Select the "Search" menu to display a list of all disk volumes that were mounted
- when the "TIES Search" application was started.
-
- 4. Select either an individual or the all drives option to begin a scan.
-
- 5. Once a selection is made the scan process will start. You will not be able to cancel
- a scan while it is in progress. Most scans will take less than 10 minutes. An old
- MacPlus with a 80 megabyte hard disk takes about 30 minutes.
-
- 6. Results of the scan are displayed during the scan process. The program will notify
- you when the scan has completed.
-
- 7. At the end of the scan you may save the results by selecting the "Save" option that is
- located under the 'File' menu. The program will automatically save the results when
- you quit the program if you have not saved them before that time.
-
- 8. The results file is a plain text file that may be read with any text editor program.
